My Story

20150808_153442 (1)Hi, thank you so much for checking out my blog! I am excited to hopefully bring some insight, creativity, and encouragement to your life. Here is a little bit about myself to give you some background on who is behind Meeting Dawn.

My name is Abigail Dawn (hence the blog title) but most people just call me Abby or some shortened variation of that. I was born and raised in what I like to call God’s Country aka Iowa with my parents and 3 older siblings.  Upon graduating High School, I spent 4 years in Mankato, Minnesota, 1 year back in Des Moines, and then 2 years in Columbia, MO where I met my husband. We now live in the large metropolis of Dallas, TX.  I miss Iowa and my family every single day, but have fearlessly embraced leaving & cleaving and feel so thankful for the opportunities the Lord has blessed us with in Texas.

I am a work in progress and have decided to write this blog in hopes to not only allow myself to become more transparent, but to ultimately bring some joy to your life.  I am passionate about relationships, keeping order in our home, cooking, hospitality, and have a newly-found love for traveling (thanks to my husband). This blog will cover a little bit of everything from travel posts to recipes to lessons I’ve learned.

I hope you enjoy my blog and thank you again for taking time out of your day to check me out!
